Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Have you experienced chronic anxiety, to the point where it takes away from your work, family, or relationships? Are you feeling stuck in cycles of worry, anxiety, self-sabotage? Do you find yourself pulling away from others? You may find that you can’t keep up with all the changes in your life and you feel overwhelmed, burned-out, and know that something needs to change. If you are ready to work on these things, I want you as a client.
We’ll explore what’s holding you back and build a path forward that fits your needs. I will help you reframe negative thoughts, process difficult experiences, and recognize your strengths. Whether through storytelling, skill-building, or simply having a safe space to be heard, we’ll work on strategies that make life feel more manageable and more hopeful.
I have had experience with abused children from 8 – 16 years of age, adults diagnosed with bipolar, major depression, schizoaffective disorders, and ADHD. I have taught anger management, communication skills, conflict resolution, systematic relaxation techniques, guided imagery, and complex grief.

I am new to counseling. What can I expect from my first session?
The first session is really a time to get to know you, your history, expectations, challenges, and goals for therapy. It is a time to see if I am a good fit for you, and you for my kind of counseling.
I have had bad experiences with counselors in the past.
Bad experiences with counseling, sadly, is pretty common. I will go over with you my therapy approach, which is person-centered, non-threatening, and non-confrontational. I am very focused on your autonomy, your ability to be fully involved in all the decisions, assessments, and treatment every step of the way.
